Independent TestingWind turbines capture the power in the wind and turn it into electricity. A complete wind turbine system such as the Windspire includes four basic components, although many systems are limited to just a rotor and generator.
The Windspire combines all these components into one simple to install platform. The pole and rotor, usually separate components, have been integrated to increase collected area and power, and reduce cost. The generator and inverter have been custom designed in-house to maximize the power conversion process.
The rotor is turned by the wind, and converts the energy of moving air into rotational mechanical energy.
The generator converts the mechanical energy into electricity by rotating a magnetic field over electric coils, producing an electric current.
The inverter takes the electricity produced by the generator and converts it into a usable AC form.
The structure provides strength, height, and supports the rotor. The Windspire structure and rotor are completely integrated.
