Virtually Silent

Windspire only spins 2-3 times the speed of the wind, faster and more efficient than drag based VAWTs, but much slower than propeller style turbines which typically spin 6-10 times the speed of the wind.

Slower speed means less noise. In fact because of the vertical axis design, sound levels are about 5 decibels above ambient, rendering it virtually inaudible.
